How to Switch From Linktree Without Starting Over

Paste your Linktree URL, preview your content in Yoyo, and try new designs free. Follow the steps to claim, personalize, and publish your page.

You can see your existing Linktree content in a new Yoyo design before you decide to move. Open the free Link-in-Bio Makeover, paste your public URL, and explore the preview without an account or card.

The route is straightforward: bring over supported content, try a design, claim the page, finish the details, and publish. Keep your current page in place while you work, so visitors continue to have a working destination.

The switch at a glance

Paste your URL → check the imported content → try themes → claim with Starter or Pro → personalize → publish and update your social links.

1. Paste your public Linktree URL

Open your Linktree page as a visitor and copy the full public address. Paste it into the Link-in-Bio Makeover tool. You can also begin through Yoyo’s import page; both lead into the same import and preview experience.

Creating and exploring the preview is free. If the tool displays an allowance or retry message, follow that guidance. Saved private previews are available for seven days in the browser where you started; the preview is not your new public page yet.

2. Check the content in your preview

Look for your profile, the main buttons, social links, and any supported media. Open the source page alongside the preview and check the destinations you rely on most. Review any import notes before you continue.

For example, a photographer’s existing links might be “Wedding stories,” “Portrait sessions,” and “Check availability.” Keep those exact destinations, then use the preview to see how a different typeface or button style presents them. You are redesigning the route to your work, not moving the underlying portfolio or booking service.

Some items may need finishing in the editor. That is a reason to check the preview, rather than a reason to rebuild everything manually. The review list below explains what to look for.

Try a few themes with different typography, color, and button treatments. Look at them with your real title and link labels. A design that works beautifully with two short buttons may need a different layout for a portfolio with several collections.

Check practical details: readable contrast, enough space for long labels, a recognizable profile image, and a clear primary action. On a phone, make sure the important destination is easy to reach without scrolling past content that no longer matters.

You do not need to reproduce your old page exactly. Keep what is useful, retire outdated destinations, and let the new design solve the problem you identified at the beginning.

Themes are design-only: they retain your content while changing the look. Complete starter pages are a separate way to begin with prepopulated example content. When switching, your imported page is the starting material.

4. Claim the page and personalize it

When the preview feels right, use its claim controls and follow the signup or sign-in steps. The preview is free; claiming the imported page requires Starter or Pro. Eligible accounts get a seven-day free trial. A credit card is required, and the selected monthly price applies after the trial unless you cancel before it ends.

Your imported content and chosen design continue into Yoyo’s regular editor. The page remains private until you publish it. Review each recovered block, add anything missing, and finish contact forms, consent wording, and destination URLs.

Use the editor to put your priority link first, group related destinations into collections, and replace any incomplete profile or image details. If you add a new contact or email signup form, set its consent and confirmation options before publishing. Compare the features and plan details if you need a particular capability.

5. Publish first, then update your profiles

Publish your finished Yoyo page and open its public address. Test the links on a phone, play supported media, and submit a test to any form you added using an address you control. Confirm that the destination pages are correct too.

Only then replace the link in your social profiles, email signature, video descriptions, and other places you control. Open the new link from each profile after saving it. You cannot assume your old Linktree URL will automatically redirect to Yoyo, so review printed materials and older campaign links separately.

Keep a record of where the old URL appears. If you decide to cancel or close the old account, review its settings, exports, and cancellation process independently. Building a Yoyo page does not change that account or its subscription.

What needs a separate check?

Yoyo imports supported information that can be recovered from a public page. That can include profile details, links, social destinations, images, and supported media or content blocks. It does not transfer your Linktree account.

  • Links and images: compare them with the source page. Preserve specific destinations and any tracking parameters you still need. Re-upload an image or add a missed link if necessary.
  • Forms and integrations: a source feature may be approximated, omitted, or need a different Yoyo block. Test the resulting form or embed rather than assuming the old setup transferred.
  • Subscriber data and analytics: subscriber lists, messages, historical analytics, billing, private settings, and connected-service permissions do not automatically move. Handle separate exports and account changes through the relevant service.
  • Existing addresses: your old Linktree URL does not automatically become a Yoyo redirect. Update the places you control and review printed QR codes or older campaigns separately.

Choose a new page because its design, structure, and plan suit the work you do. There is no need to move a shop, newsletter, or booking system that already works well elsewhere. If your content needs a clearer order, use the step-by-step page creation guide while you personalize the imported page.
